Visit To Ervin's Place

Had an awesome visit to Ervin's house, a spacious and luxurious condo. Didn't stayed for too long though. I tried out his Wii games which I didn't have and also CS, and I realised that I was a noob, coz I got pwned by Ervin in Wii!!

Anyway, the best part of my trip was that I saw a damn Nissan GT-R at the parking lot - IMBA!!! This brand new car's probably parallel imported, coz I don't think Singapore sells this one. The GT-R is a fully Japanese manufactured and produces 473 bhp at 6400 rpm and maximum torque of 434 lb-ft from 3200 to 5200 rpm. This is definitely a great buy under the category of Japanese supercars.

Kung Fu Dunk

Went to the movies after all the freakin tests are finally over!

Watched Kung Fu Dunk, although I know it would definitely be similar to its ancient cousin Shaolin Soccer lols. It's seriously quite a cool movie, with a grasp of comedy in it, perhaps because Jay is taking the role as a naive guy . But the part I really wanna criticize is the ending, coz it's really lame.

The ending goes like this:
1. Similar to typical movies, at the final match, Jay's team was lagging behind by 1 point. Then they had a free throw with 3 seconds left on the clock.
2. He was damn precise in his shooting, so it's impossible to miss a free throw.
3. Then he took the shot, and when the ball was about to go through the hoop, the retarded referee ran up and whacked the ball of its course. Some guy said that the referee shouldn't be considered in the rules, and so Jay's team lost. -- WTH?!
4. Here comes the lame part. Jay recalled what his master had taught him about reversing time, and so he did it and eventually won. "..."

Moral? Erm... Watching movies is always an excellent method to kill time?

台湾 – 对我来说是一个即熟悉又陌生的地方。它是我父母的故乡，每年的年终假期我都会跟随着母亲和姐姐回到这里，和亲友们相聚。今年也不例外。

虽然我已去了台湾好几次，但这一次更加难忘。一踏进台湾土地，整个的感觉就变了。它的地方，人名和文化跟新加坡相比截然不同。

在旅途的第二天，我从台北市出发，来到了一个叫做乌来的地方。这地方是独一无二的，而且新加坡是找不到风景如此美的地方。有高山，也有瀑布河流，实在是让我赞叹不已。在那里，最吸引旅客去的地点是它的自然温泉。

在河得一些部分有地底下冒出的热，使得水的温度上升。旅客可以免费的泡温泉，只需把脚伸进又有被石头围住的地方就能体验到自然温泉是什么感觉。我本来不想脱鞋子泡脚，但看到这么多人玩得很开心，我也不由自主地一起泡脚。这个经验令我终身难忘，也体验到他自然丰富的给予，是不用花费一分一毫的。除了温泉之外，乌来最负盛名的就是山地文化。在那里可以了解到台湾原住民的文化和饮食，对我来说也是一项全新的感觉。

虽然乌来之旅很精彩，很有趣，但我心中满心盼望的就是能够搭乘时速高达300公里的高速铁路。因为这是从起点台北一直搭到终点高雄400多公里的路程只要一个半小时，真要好好体验一下这种超速的快感。

一早，我满心雀跃地踏上旅程。车站里人群吵杂，大部分都是工作人士。他们要到几百里之外的另一个城市工作，但我的心境就不同，愉悦的，期盼的，甚至有点兴奋。高铁的列车新颖，舒适。大家都守秩序地上车，出站后，火车慢慢地加速。到了时速300公里时，我兴奋地拿起手机拍照，沿路的美景飞快地从我眼前略过，飞过城市，乡村，田野，景色不断地转换，令我目不暇接。一晃眼就到了终点站高雄，展开了三天的南部旅程。

高雄是台湾南部的最大城市，由于热带的气候，真想新加坡的感觉。冬天的阳光，暖暖地晒在身上，令人浑身洋洋的。有熙攘的人群，有雄伟的建筑，又美丽的河流，更有出名的台湾夜市文化，吃的，穿的，应有尽有。我融入了他们的生活脚步，夜深了，还抵不住我们的游兴，在爱河边点歌听音乐。

隔天，我们决定到更南方的度假地 – 垦丁，留宿于当地的度假村。哪里有私人海滩，景色美不胜收，但是冬季时是东北季风季节，又有台风接近，只见滚滚海水，白浪滔滔，风声从耳边呼啸而过，无法享受海上的活动，真是可惜。

每一年的台湾旅游，我们都会安排到不同的地方，花莲，九份，淡水，台中等，都有我的足迹。我对这个宝岛有份特殊的情感，亲切，但又有距离。不同于新加坡给我的感觉，平淡但不能割舍。新加坡就像我的父母，而台湾却像一位久违的朋友。

OBS

There's nothing much now after exams, but there should be something to talk about after OBS!

It's Aphelion and ProEd's turn to go to what is known to many people as "hell" or "concentration camp", and I hope they will "enjoy" it.

This OBS thing a 4-days 3-nights camp. You might think it's quite long or something, but trust me, it's quite slack. You'll spend hours stoning there and doing nothing, and waiting till the sun goes down... lol.

The 1st day was really bad, coz I went kayaking and I've got the sun burn I "needed". The night was even worse; we've got to cook our own rice for dinner, and the result was that my watch had to eat half-cooked rice - real great experience!

I did almost nothing on the 2nd and 3rd day, simply because of the rain. Sigh, about to do belaying and rafting, but in the end I did not do those.

There are 2 campsites; 1st known as the chalet, and 2nd known as the barrack. It's quite obvious why they had those names if you have gone to OBS before, and I stayed in the barrack. -_- Everyone in my watch was complaining madly about how lousy about campsite was, and it became even worse after we had a visit to campsite 1; everyone started cursing OBS... haha.

The OBS food was interesting too. Everyday I would have to eat biscuit, then canned food, and then biscuits again. Although I did not get sick of the food, I realised that I lost 2 kgs when I returned home! Arg...

Same goes to sleeping. We slept in our campsites on the 1st 2 nights, but the 3rd night, we had to sleep in the forest, and guess what? Everyone was woken up by a guy screaming about wild dogs... that was really lame. Just because of a stupid dog, he woke up more than 30 people! That night I had only slept for about an hour, partially because about the dogs. The other part was because the terrain was really rocky.

The last day was the best; we had to wash all the equipment we used, and anything that was lost must be returned by paying. Our watch had to pay like 30 bucks for the things we lost, but to lighten the load, we had the most unforgettable watch mate to pay for about half of the sum, and it's WU TIAN HAO (not sure how it is spelled)!!! He had lost a whole bag of tent pegs (16 x $0.70 + $7.45)! Amazing, isn't it? Just joking, coz there's one watch who lost a whole bag pack costing $192! I wonder how they are going to pay up... =|

Anyways, the trip was quite okay overall. That's all for today.

Rubik's Cube

Well, exams are coming soon... but I haven't mugged anything... but who cares.

In this post, I shall officially announce that I've got my Rubik's Cube! LOL

Hmm... Rubik's cube is getting very popular again, and I can see hundreds of people holding them to play. I was wondering what's so fun about it, so I decided to buy one.

Before I bought the cube, someone taught me that I must solve the top cross first, followed by the top corners, then middle layer, bottom sides and lastly bottom corners. I tried to solve the cube, but no matter how I twist or turn, I could only at most solve the top cross. I began thinking that I'm a hopeless guy, however, being determined, I continued twisting it here and there. Amazingly, after a full half an hour, I managed to place the top corner pieces into their correct locations! Haha

Anyway, it's rather impossible for you to solve a cube without formulas, so I had to check the internet for them, and until now, I can easily solve the top corners and middle layer. I think I should work harder to memorize more formulas! =)

Let me talk about the "history" (crap version) of the Rubik's Cube. In 1974, Erno Rubik was the man who invented this fun puzzle and made everyone go crazy about it. Same goes to my parents. However, they are not so fortunate. Why? Simply because computers were just invented and there was almost no way to find out the formulas to solve the cube! You may be considered very clever if you can solve the cube's first two layers without using any formula... lol

As Pro As Zhun Song

Well, let me introduce a new simile to everyone - as pro as Zhun Song

You will know by now that Zhun Song is a super pro guy, and thus when you want to refer to something as "pro", you can simply state that that thing or that person is as pro as Zhun Song.

As pro as Zhun Song can be used effectively, because when you state that someone or something is as pro as Zhun Song, anyone will immediately understand how much "pro-ness" is there.

I hope everyone will be able to use this simile effectively!

Today is damn "pro".

In the morning, the whole class went for a CIP activity, where everyone had to help some elderly people purchase groceries from a supermarket. It was damn "pro" because before the briefing of this activity, I wanted to pair with Hong Kee. I thought it was just a joke, but unexpectedly, I really did pair up with him! As we were helping the elderly buy groceries, there was a translator going along with the elderly and she did most of the job, leaving us behind, slacking. Hong Kee and I just had to calculate the amount spent and carry the groceries. See - how slack. =)

I was supposed to go to Alston's house to play after that, but unfortunately he said he was sick, so in the end I had to go Hong Kee's house instead of his. I really want to play pool at his house!!! =( Anyway, going Hong Kee's house was not so bad, because I got to play Xbox! As you know, my Halo skills are very noob (reasoning by assertion =|), so I got sort of trashed by Hong Kee... However, the last match was a rocket launcher match and I managed to beat him by 2 points! It was the most "pro" match among all the matches I had played with him, because we kept hiding from each other and spammed grenades and rockets like crazy. Later, Hong Kee introduced to me a lame but funny game - Da Bomb Pong. You can go and try it here and you will find it funny as you will find bombs blowing up in front of your face.

At night, I went for a school drama talking about Ong Teng Cheong. Throughout the drama, a lot of students were either playing their handphones or talking among themselves, and did not really care about the play. (including me) John, who was sitting beside me, was complaining that the play was promoting the stupid Chinese language and was spreading communism. (bear in mind that it was his opinion, not mine) Do not be utterly surprised, because John always refer to Chinese as Tamil and he is always very "pro". But overall, the play was not so bad.

The "pro" things for today have come to an end, which brings me here to where I am now, blogging. I really hope I will be able to go Alston's house next week. >_<

Nike Air Force 1

I am beginning to love Nike very much after buying my new Nike Air Force 1 shoe. It's really cool, and the model is Premium '07 (Cooper) 315087-121. At first, I didn't know why "Cooper", a basketball player's name, was the model name of the shoe, but I soon realized that this guy was one of the Original 6, which was designed by Nike.

Below is what Original 6 is all about.

To pay respect for the original athletes that signed on to the Air Force One team, Nike has designed what is called the "Original 6". Each Nike Air Force One is designed by the personality of each athlete and the way they played the game. The following players are apart of the Original 6 project:

Moses Malone

Hello people...

Hmm... What should I talk about? Wii? Oh yes!

Ok, my father bought a Wii when he was overseas in May. Before he left, he mentioned nothing about wanting to buy a Wii. So I was surprised when he bought back one... OMG! Yay!

After buying the Wii, his friend overseas helped him to modify it so that pirated games can be played. Then, he went to buy some pirated games. As he knew nothing much about games, he just bought all that the stall owner recommended, and you know what? Most of them are like very childish games such as Pokemon, Mario and stuff... LOL! Sigh... but who cares anyway... he still did get some good games such as Need For Speed Carbon, TMNT etc. =)

So during the holidays, I played Wii almost everyday. I even invited Shuin Jian and Jun Han to my house and play! It's so fun! You can find one of Shuin Jian's blog post talking about coming to my house. He mentioned that "which probably had something to do with me beating him. Victory always feels great!" That's not true! He only won once when playing tennis with me, and the rest of the times that I lost to him is because he teamed up with Jun Han to compete with me! With two players, you can cover a much larger area (left, right, front, back) than one player... which is totally unfair! Arg... But still it's more fun to compete with one another than to play with AI all the time.

It will be nicer to play games on the Wii than any other consoles (that's why I voted for Wii in the poll), because you can do more than only pressing button when playing any game. For example, for golf, you will need to position yourself such that you are really playing golf. You will need to treat the Wii controller like a golf handle, then you swing it to strike the ball. For more examples, you can view Wii Play tutorials.

Sigh, I hope I can get better games for the Wii like Spiderman 3 and Call of Duty 3 etc. soon. Shuin Jian (the guy crazy about Sonic the Hedgehog) said that he might buy for me Sonic and the Secret Rings for my birthday, but I don't know if it is true or not. (Hope it is because it looks quite cool!)

Hope I can invite people to my place to play Wii again! =)

School 18th July 2007

Sigh! I performed 24 drums this morning and the worst thing about it is that I had to wear that gay costume again! Actually, I don't even know who am I performing for but I don't give a damn. =)

I was allowed to pon flag raising, RP and so on until 8.50am, but thanks to Joel who was sooo desperate to take his uniform from the class that Alston and I had no choice but to go back to class with him at an earlier time (dumb Joel left his uniform in class) to have our lessons.

Later, during the lame PE period as you all know (that it's lame), Alston and Joel and I were called out because we did not bring our PE attire. As all the students who did not bring gathered to listen to the PE teacher talk cock, Alston thought of a brilliant excuse for not bringing our PE attire! - As the SMB post by our teacher said that the performance will end at 10am, we thought that we will miss PE lesson, thus we did not bring our attire. And guess what? It worked! =D However, a genius named Pin Yi outsmarted us. He said that he was also from wushu... LOL! And it worked for him too! zzz...

Sian... there will be another performance at Suntec City next Tuesday. Similarly, I do not know who am I performing for (quite ridiculous ar?). If I'm not wrong, there might be an english test on that day, and I might be able to pon test. Alston, Joel and I will probably take it afterwards.

Racial Harmony Day Celebration

Today, everyone gets to "celebrate" the dumbest Racial Harmony Day.

I had to perform the crappy 24 Drums, and guess what? I had to do it 2 times! Argh! I had to perform once for the Sec 1s and the other for the Sec 2s. zzzz... Why can these two levels watch the concert at the same time?! "Thanks" to the organizers! It makes me soooo embarrassed to wear that bloody gay costume! Although the time between the 1st and 2nd performance is only 1 hour, but it's so damn embarrassing wearing that gay costume for recess! So I had to change my clothes again and again. =D

So as I wait to perform, I played pool on my phone with Alston. He was goooood! There was once I played 8 Ball UK with him, and I managed to pot all of my red balls before he could pot his second. (Yay!) I was elated but some tragedy happened - I accidentally potted the black ball before potting my last red. Noooo! I can't belief I lost in such a dumb way... *sniff*
The first performance was rather stupid... the Sec 1s don't seem to give a damn about what we were drumming about.

However, the second time was worse... before we started, Wah Jiang came over to me and said "good luck". As usual, people from my class (this time Alston and Joel) start saying that I am flirting with Wah Jiang or something. How could this be possible? Everyone in my class is saying that I like Wah Jiang or Wah Jiang like me. That's totally nonsensical! I hope this can stop soon... =( We are just ordinary friends, and I hope everyone can get this in mind. =)

After that, I went to the ep3 shed to slack for a while, and then I get to go home earlier! (11.45am) =P

In conclusion, I feel that RHD is lame, stupid, meaningless and never worth to celebrate.
